چکیده
The Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) may be used for the treatment of acne, photoepilation, photorejuvenation and more recently their use has been advocated for treatment of meibomian gland dysfunction and dry eye. For the treatment of dysfunction of the meibomian gland, Intense Pulsed Light was used with the same acne treatment settings in the scenario Fitzpatrick type 1, fluent between 8 and 12 J/cm2 with a 20 pulse width of 30 milliseconds depending on skin response, using four to six applications, spaced in 1 month [1]. Being a relatively new method, the eye problems resulting from inappropriate IPL use are not well documented in the literature, but there are bilateral anterior uveitis accounts, decreased pupillary motility, epithelial lesions, iris atrophy, posterior synechiae and corneal pigment deposit of contact lens [2]. The purpose of this study is to recognize the types and degrees of eye injuries caused by intense pulsed light according to each power, pulse duration and fluence used. From these data collected we can determine the risks of near eye area procedure and makes it safer in ophthalmological perspective. Materials and Methods

Angioma serpiginosum successfully treated by a single session of intense pulsed light therapy
Angioma serpiginosum (AS) is a nevoid capillary malformation developed congenitally or thereafter. The AS stops growing after puberty and may remain persistent throughout life. The pulsed dye laser (PDL) and KTP are used to treat the AS usually after several sessions. We treated a patient with AS with only one session of intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy. A 40-year-old lady with Fitzpatrick sk...
متن کاملEfficacy of the intense pulsed light source on unwanted hairs
Background: The need for a rapid, non-invasive method for unwanted hair removal has led to the development of various light sources for this purpose. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of Intense Pulsed Light Source (IPLS) on unwanted hairs. Patients and Methods: In this open, uncontrolled clinical trial, 77 different anatomical areas in 34 referred patients to “Novin Didegan Clinic” in Tehran...
متن کاملکاربرد نور شدید طپشی در درمان خال Spilus : گزارش چند بیمار
Background: Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology is one of our new measures in treating dermatologic disorders including undesirable skin pigmentation. In contrast with lentigines and freckling of the skin, few reports about nevus spilus treatment using intense pulsed light have been published. The aim of current study was to evaluate efficacy and safety of nevus spilus treatment with an inten...

Background: Photo-damaged skin is characterized not only by wrinkles and creases but also by epidermal and dermal atrophy, rough skin texture, irregular pigmentation, talengiectasis , laxity and enlarged pores. There is growing interest in the development of noninvasive methods to treat photo-damaged skin. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), a non-coherent, broadband, pulsed light source is effective i...
متن کاملThe efficacy of IPL and ammonium lactate 14% versus ammonium lactate alone in the treatment of keratosis pilaris
Background: Keratosis rubra pilaris is a common condition with an estimated percentage of 40% involvement in the population. This condition is inherited as an autosomal dominant trait and more commonly involves patients with dry skin. In the current study, we evaluated the efficacy of intense pulsed light (IPL) plus ammonium lactate versus ammonium lactate alone in the treatmen...
